In 2007, he graduated from Baskent University with a BA in Film and Television Production. In 2012 he received his MFA degree in Film Production with an emphasis on Editing and Sound Design (Dodge College Conservatory of Film and Media Arts, Los Angeles). Thesis film he edited and sound designed (Dead Hearts) was awarded for Best Sound Design and was also nominated for Best Film and Best Editing in Cecil Awards 2012, Los Angeles.
Names amongs his mentors include Academy Award winning screenwriter and director David Ward (The Sting, Sleepless in Seattle), editor Paul Seydor (Tin Cup), director John Badham, (Saturday Night Fever, Heroes) visual effects supervisor Bill Kroyer (Tron, The Green Mile) and production designer Larry Paull (Blade Runner, Back to the Future).
He finally settled in Istanbul, started shaping performances and narration and since then he is following a quest for form and meaning.
With a quick smile, an impressive bag of tricks and endless patience he continues to work on commercial and narrative film productions among the ranks of Civil Editors.
